Hi gashiibotsu-

If you are coming from Windows or Linux then Mac computers shouldn't be too difficult for you to get used to. A lot of the functionalities are simplified.

I know a lot of people who have switched to the Mac platform and have gotten used to it within a few days. Pros of Macs are that they are generally easy to troubleshoot since the hardware and the software is made by one company who can support most of your problems (they do a good job of this, generally). The cons include higher purchase price for specs and features that may be similar to PC competitors but consider that the OS is free as are many of the productivity and lifestyle apps.

If you have a chance, always try out any computer before you decide to buy it. Not just because it is a Mac or a PC but because it works well with your work and lifestyle needs and fits your budget.
