The story has been updated, Lisa, and Gadjo has some of the latest news on the release dates and expected pricing.

Please see his March 6 feature story, 'iPad delayed, comes to Canada late April

Its way too early to pass judgement on the iPad. By the time it launches (end of March) it should be more defined and have better support (i.e. apps and accessories) that will make it compelling.

This is an entirely new category of device and while it wont replace your MacBook Pro (a pro-level notebook is unlikely to be replaced by a tablet, even in the Windows world).

iPad is clearly positioned between smartphone and notebook and it isn't a replacement for any or both of those devices but a product for users (like students, non-pro computer users, casual users) whose need is portability over power.

So after all the anticipation, the unveiling of the Upsized iPod Touch happened. I should be more excited about this, but I'm not. I was looking forward to a tabletPC from Apple, one that could replace my MacBook Pro, as long as it was as powerful as today's MacBook, but sans the keyboard and trackpad - afterall I already have the bluetooth apple keyboard and magic mouse.

I guess if I was a student, this is another option for me to carry my textbooks in an eReader - not a revolutionary product, just another option.

All in all, I'm not excited at all about this, but not surprised either. Steve built his dream machine, not what Apple users asked for.
