It sounds like am awesome day, a jam-packed event looking exclusively at the iPad, iPhone and iPod, and the amazing creative and business opportunities presented by the Apple Touch Platform.

But does anyone else find some irony in the fact you have physically attend?!?! One of the attendees should probably develop a digital device-enabled way to attend the conference for next time.

iP3 iPod, iPhone iPad Forum in Toronto

The iP3 Forum — this is the first one — is being presented by Interactive Ontario and Bell Canada, and anyone involved in the changing mobile landscape should attend the June 21st event in Toronto.

(By the way, as Apple has now announced the date for iPad availability here in Canada – May 28th, the company says – there should be lots of interesting devices as well as people in attendance.)

Organizers say keynote presentations by industry leaders will be featured, and concurrent Technical and Business sessions will be held throughout the day. The Technical Sessions will provide a deeper understanding of how to design and develop for Apple’s Touch Platform, and the Business Sessions will offer information on how to leverage the Platform’s market potential.

“Interactive Ontario is excited to be presenting the first-ever Toronto iP3 Forum in partnership with Bell,” said Sarah Baird, VP programmes and operations, Interactive Ontario. “The focus of this event is to bring together business leaders, designers and developers to share ideas, experiences and best practices for innovation on Apple’s Touch Platform.”

Interactive Ontario – IO to its friends – is a not-for-profit industry trade organization, representing over 220 member companies, helping them to grow and succeed in the interactive digital media industry. IO is an industry advocate within Ontario and nationally as a founding member of the Canadian Interactive Alliance /Alliance interactive canadienne (CIAIC).

BCE, of course, provides a wide range of information and communications technology (ICT) services, and offers Apple Touch products and service packages.

For anyone intereted in presenting at iP3, be aware that organizers have put out a call for speakers (there’s an online submission form but the deadline is fast approaching) and are looking for “insightful and inspired sessions” from companies or individuals. They don’t want product pitches, but rather, creative ideas, inspiring sugestions, insightful experinces. Submissions can be from companies or individuals, and can be for the Business and/or Technical Sessions in the form of lectures or panels.
