Smart Rings to Consider Besides the Oura Ring: Best Fitness & Health Tracking Devices in 2025

Smartwatches have long been the wearable of choice. But over the last several years, there has been growing interest in smart rings, especially with so many brands launching models to compete with market leader Oura, and offering a subscription-free alternative. They offer compelling designs and features to rival the best-known brand. But how do you choose? If you’re considering jumping in, these smart rings are all worth considering.

Best for Overall Health & Wellness: Noise Luna Ring

The Noise Luna Ring is a fantastic smart ring that tracks all the metrics you’d expect while also sporting a rugged design, impressive battery life, and detailed stats to help you stay on top of your health, wellness, and fitness. You get so much data in the companion app, in fact, that it can seem overwhelming at times. If you want at-a-glance stats, visit the Luna AI section for a daily health digest. This smart assistant also answers questions, like how to improve your sleep, and even provides recipe ideas for a low-calorie snack. Track activities and workouts in the app, which also provides helpful advice on how to improve, whether it’s poor sleep or slow recovery. There’s very little you don’t get with this smart ring, and battery life is among the longest I’ve experienced with any smart ring at about five days per charge in standard mode. Get it for about $415 in Canada. The Noise Luna Ring Gen 2 is coming soon, so keep an eye out for that model.

Runner Up Smart Ring: Ultrahuman Ring Air

Just as good as the Noise Luna smart ring is the Ultrahuman Ring Air, which adds unique features to the mix. Namely, there are PowerPlugs, app plug-ins for adding specific data tracking that matters to you. This ranges from menstrual cycle to vitamin D exposure, caffeine window, and circadian rhythm. You can also calibrate the ring for your specific needs with PowerPlugs for pregnancy, shift work, and more. Everyone will get a different experience in the app based on what you choose. They’re all free except for a few advanced ones that require a nominal monthly fee, like Afib detection. Track workouts from the app and view captured data; the app could be organized better but it’s comprehensive. Available in stylish finishes, you’ll only get about three days of battery life in Performance Mode. I would comfortably rely on this smart ring alone without a smartwatch and be confident that it’s tracking everything accurately. It’s $480 in Canada.

Best For AI-Powered Features: Circular Ring Slim

If you can deal with the occasional app bug and hiccup, the Circular Ring Slim is a good value option that will only set you back about $400 in Canada, $332 if you opt for the model without haptic vibrations. Yes, you can set vibration alerts in the app so the ring lightly vibrates on your finger to remind you to take medication, for example, or as a subtle morning alarm. There’s an AI assistant in the app called Kira+ that guides you along, asking questions and providing advice. Get a generous six days of battery life from the ultra-rugged ring you can wear just about anywhere. Note that the Circular Ring Slim has been replaced by the Circular Ring 2, which adds Afib detection (FDA cleared for the U.S.), enhanced ECG, and a new charger design. On pre-order now, its regular price is U$550, but there’s early-bird pricing for backers.

Best Fitness Tracker Replacement: Rollme R11

If you’re looking for something simple, the Rollme R11 is just US$50 and tracks basics similar to an entry-level activity tracker around your wrist would, including workouts. While it does away with the larger and sometimes distracting screen of a fitness band, the compromise is a tiny screen that shows time, steps, heart rate, and battery level. This helps keep distractions to a minimum while eliminating the excuse of having to grab your phone to check the app to see how many steps you’ve taken. The ring can be helpful for some smartphone communications, though, including offering gesture controls for interacting with apps like TikTok and a phone’s camera.

Best for Discreet Notifications: Rogbid SR10

The Rogbid SR10 discreetly vibrates when you are getting notifications from a paired smartphone, like an incoming call or message, as well as things like alarms, calendar appointments and reminders, even abnormal heart rate warnings. Tap and swipe on it to do things like control video and music playback or trigger the camera shutter. It tracks all the usual stuff, too, along with mood, and even has a built-in SOS function. At US$100, it’s affordable, too.

Best for Samsung Galaxy Phone Owners: Samsung Galaxy Ring

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is best for those who own Samsung Galaxy phones, and ideally, a new Samsung Galaxy smartwatch as well. The Galaxy Ring works beautifully in combination with them (it can work with other Android phones but without certain exclusive features) so the ring can passively track vitals while the watch tracks workout metrics (though both the ring and watch can track it all). Data is combined in the Samsung Health app, which is basic but informative. Enjoy gesture controls, too, for actions like silencing an alarm or triggering the phone’s camera. Leverage Galaxy AI for wellness tips, Energy Score, Sleep Score, and more. With an impressive up to seven-day battery life and a convenient charging case with a lid so you can take it with you, it’s the perfect option for Galaxy ecosystem users. The ring is expensive, though, at $550.

Best for Battery Life: Ringconn Gen 2

Introduced at IFA 2024 late last year, the Ringconn Gen 2 initially launched via Kickstarter campaign last summer and is now available in Canada for $430. Most impressive is the rated battery life, which is up to 10-12 days per charge. It’s unheard of to be able to wear a smart ring for more than a week, and ones with even a one-week battery life are fairly rare, too. Further, if you think you might have sleep apnea, this is a worthwhile smart ring to get. It isn’t meant to take the place of a medical test, but the Ringconn Gen 2 does have an integrated sleep apnea detection feature. After measuring three continuous hours of real-time sleep overnight, it will check for instances of possible sleep apnea symptoms, likely measured by respiratory interruptions.

Best for Runners: Amazfit Helio

The Amazfit Helio smart ring can only track four workout types – running, walking, cycling, and treadmill. It’s perfect for runners, though, since it provides tons of additional metrics to make a valuable addition to your set-up, especially if you’re looking to lighten the load while you head out for a 5K. It tracks basics plus training load, exertion, and recovery, and can analyze your runs to generate race predictions and help you meet your goals. It’s ultra-rugged with an 10ATM rating, stylish with a dotted pattern design, and affords a decent up to three days operation time per charge. It’s on the cheaper end of the pricing scale as well at US$200.

Best for Mindfulness: Pulse Mindfulness Digital Detox Ring

It might look like all the others, but the Pulse Mindfulness Digital Detox ring is very different. It’s not designed to track anything, but rather to serve as a distraction-free, passive way to encourage mindfulness and meditation. This includes customizable vibrations and pulsations at precise moments throughout the day to help you feel calm and de-stress. The subtle sensations have a healing feel to them, mimicking the frequencies of things like a purring cat. It’s an appreciated reminder to pause, breathe, and take in life rather than let it take you over. In Meditation Mode, you can engage in audio-free meditation sessions. So, the Pulse ring is just a high-tech piece of jewelry designed to remind you to enjoy life and not sweat the small stuff. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, you can now pre-order the ring for US$249, with delivery set for September 2025.
