Mobilicity has been offering up a flurry of new handsets and aggressive service options to its growing customer base. The upstart carrier, who just expanded their coverage to Vancouver, Edmonton and Ottawa, recently announced their UNLIMITED to GO pack that includes a phone plus three months prepaid service including unlimited local talk and text, unlimited province-wide long-distance calling, voicemail, caller ID, call waiting, call forwarding, 3-way calling starting at $99.00.
“UNLIMITED to GO is the perfect gift for friends and family members who want a quality 3G wireless experience without worrying that it’s going to get them stuck in a long-term contract and cost them a fortune down the road,” said Mobilicity’s VP of Marketing Sara Moore. “Giving someone a mobile phone with a contract is a lot like giving them a pet rat – you have to keep feeding it and cleaning out its cage for the rest of its life. It comes with a big obligation.”
The limited-edition bundle is available with a Sony Ericsson TM506 flip phone ($99.99) or HTC Snap smartphone ($129.99). Both handsets come with three months of Mobilicity’s $35 rate plan, which includes unlimited local talk and text, unlimited province-wide long-distance calling, voicemail, caller ID, call waiting, call forwarding, 3-way calling in its unlimited calling areas across the country.
UNLIMITED to GO is available at Mobilicity stores, as well as 7-Eleven, Zellers and select hmv stores in Toronto, Vancouver, Edmonton and Ottawa.
$200 for 1-year of unlimited prepaid voice and text
Mobilicity is also offering unlimited talk and text messaging for a year at $200 prepaid. Released in time for the holiday gifting season, the 1-year prepaid voice and text plan can be used with any Mobilicity-compatible handset, including the recently released LG WinkTM slider phone, which costs $99.99. Mobilicity allows users to bring their own unlocked phones to be used with their plans. Mobilicity’s Multi-Months are the most affordable, pay-in-advance airtime packages in Canada,” explained Moore.
“By rewarding customers with lower pricing on longer-term plans, our Multi-Months are the exact opposite of the Big 3 wireless carriers’ pre-paid offerings, which are known for penalizing customers with rates that are significantly higher than what their post-paid customers pay.” Mobilicity’s Multi-Months provide discounts of up to 33 percent off the carrier’s already very affordable unlimited plans.
They offer great flexibility – ensuring there is a package for everyone – available in denominations of three, six, nine, and 12 months. Twelve Multi-Months of service on the $25 unlimited talk and text plan with Caller ID and Mobilicity-to-Mobilicity calling, for example, is priced at $199.99. Purchased on a month-by-month basis, the plan costs $300 over the course of the year.
