A selection of Spotify’s many Holiday-themed playlists, which range from classic Christmas hits, to hip hop Christmas tunes.

Whether it’s for your own personal entertainment at home, tunes to bop to while you commute to school or work, or a playlist to stream during your holiday party, here are some great holiday-themed playlists worth checking out from some of the top streaming music sites.

1.Spotify – Christmas in Canada

Spread both some holiday cheer and national pride. This playlist includes three hours and 25 minutes worth of festive tunes – more than enough to entertain guests through a Christmas dinner and gift unwrap session without having to repeat any songs. You’ll find tunes from current (and, of course, Canadian) artists, like Michael Buble, Justin Bieber, and Carly Rae Jepsen, as well as long-time Canadian musical icons like Jann Arden and Diana Krall. For French-speaking Canadians, there’s also the Noel au Canada playlist that features artists like Lydia &Sebastien, Sally Folk, and RochVoisine.

2.Songza – Vintage Christmas Crooners

While Songza will be folded into Google Play Music at the end of January next year, for now, you can still get your holiday fix through the streaming service. For some sit-around-the-fire-and-enjoy-hot-cocoa traditional tunes, check out this playlist, which will take you back in time with hits like The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole and Perry Como’s Ave Maria.

3.Google Play Music – Christmas at the Movies

Recall some of your favourite holiday movies with this playlist that focuses on tunes from film soundtracks, like You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch from How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and John Williams’ version of O Holy Night, which appeared in Christmas classic flick Home Alone.

4.Spotify – The Office Christmas Party

Rather than rely on the traditional soft rock FM station’s holiday playlist to entertain employees at the office Christmas party, grab a portable Bluetooth speaker and stream some fun tunes from your smartphone. This playlist includes all of those tunes that are guaranteed to have jolly co-workers carolling the night away, like Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You and Brenda Lee’s infectious Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree.

5.Spotify – Hanukkah Kids!

Don’t celebrate Christmas? No fear, as sites like Spotify offer playlists tailored toward other holiday events, like Hanukkah. This playlist, specifically geared toward children, offers just under 40 minutes worth of popular tunes, like Kidz Bop Kids singing Oh Hanukkah, and even The Wiggles’ version of Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel, or the cast of GLEE belting out Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah. It’s a great playlist for all eight crazy nights!

6.Apple Music – A Smooth Jazz Christmas

Maybe you just want some soothing, low-key Christmas tunes to play while you finish up your holiday baking, or sip a glass of wine, feet up on the couch with a good book. Or, maybe it’s for a dinner party where conversation is to be front and centre, and you’re just looking for some mellow tunes to add to theambiance. This station may just fit the bill.
